Rev. James Curry, Children's Ministry
Rev. Curry was born in Denver, Colorado. He is married to his lovely wife Markita and they have three children: Ja'Nae, Marcus & Jamon. Rev. Curry is a third generation preacher and the grandson of the late Pastor James E. Curry of Midland, PA. Rev. Curry was called by God to preach his glorious Gospel to the world in December of 2006, and licensed under the watchful eye of Pastor Frank M. Davis in March 2007. He has been serving in the role of the Children's Ministry Minister since September 2007. Rev. Curry has a passion for the children and all of God's people - especially the lost and the broken. He is on several ministries, including the Prison Ministry and Evangelism Ministry. His favorite scripture is John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
  

Rev. Thomas Curry, Sunday School Superintendent
Rev. Thomas J. Curry is a native of Midland, PA. He has been married to his lovely wife, Justyne, for 47 years and they have two children and three grandchildren. He was ordained as a Deacon in 1974 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Midland, PA under the pastorate of Rev. David L. Jemison. He accepted his clergy calling in September of 1997 under the pastorate of Rev. Frank M. Davis. At Zion, he served as a Deacon from 1983 – 1997. He is currently the Sunday School Superintendent and serves as the appointed Dean for The Congress of Christian Education in the Western States Baptist Convention. He sings to the glory of God in the Zion Sanctuary Choir and Male Chorus. Rev. Curry has a deep compassion for winning souls and implementing racial reconciliation. His favorite scripture is Psalm 100:5 “For the Lord is good.”
  

Rev. Christopher Mattox, Young Adult Ministry
Rev. Mattox is a native of Memphis, TN. He is married to his beautiful wife, Gequinn, and they share 2 beautiful daughters: Kiira and Cyaira. He was ordained as a Deacon in 2001 at the New Salem MB Church under the tutelage of Pastor Antonio Mattox, Sr. He accepted his calling to preach in March 2007 under the tutelage of Pastor Frank M. Davis. Rev. Mattox is the Young Adult Ministry (YAM) Advisor. Rev. Mattox loves God and God's people, and he never meets a stranger. He also LOVES to play the drums, dance and sing, all to the glory of God! One of his favorite scriptures is Matthew 28:18-20, "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."
  
Rev. Walter McMillian, General Missionary Ministry

Rev. Walter Greene McMillian was born in Mobil, Alabama. He has been married to his beautiful wife Sharon since 1975 (34 years). This union shares two wonderful children, Kenneth and Shannon, and five grandchildren.

Rev. McMillian was educated at Pasadena City College and Selma University. He later served for our country, by joining the United States Army. He served three years in Germany and one year in Viet Nam. Rev. McMillian later received an honorary discharge in 1968 and relocated to Altadena where he was employed by Mobil Oil Corporation as a Field Engineer.

Rev. McMillian was ordained as a Deacon January, 1993 and later ordained as a Minister of the Gospel on June, 1994, at Mount Calvary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Seth Williams. Upon his retirement Rev. McMillian and his wife relocated to Denver, Colorado, where his wife was born and raised.

Rev. McMillian joined, and his wife rejoined, Zion in September, 1999, where he serves as the Minister of the Solace Committee, Minister of the Zion Counseling Ministry and Minister of Zion Mission Ministry. His favorite scripture isI John 4:4; “Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.”

  

Rev. Willie Peacock, Youth Ministry

Rev. Willie F. Peacock, Jr. was called to preach April 1980 and was licensed in June 1980. Rev. Peacock was ordained under the guidance of Rev. Carl Jordan in July 1983 at the New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Ruleville, MS. In 1986, he relocated to Denver, CO and became a member of Zion Baptist Church. He currently serves as the Associate Pastor of Zion’s Youth Church. He also serves as the Minister for the General Missionary and the Adult Ministry. He is the Co-Minister of the Solace Committee and the Children’s Sunday School Superintendent.

Rev. Peacock united in holy matrimony to the lovely and beautiful America Peacock on April 9, 1994. The couple has four vibrant daughters: LaKisya, LaKristy, Zipporah and Leandra, and four talented grandchildren: Tevin, Tyler, Atonia and Ke’Shawn who feel that his laughter if very contagious. His hobbies are eating, watching movies, basketball, barbecuing and more basketball! His favorite scripture is Psalms 27:1, “The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear.”

  
Rev. Lawrence Collier
Rev. Collier was called to the ministry in May 1961. After delivering his first sermon, he was drafted into the U.S. Army in July 1961 to July 1963. After returning to Denver, he attended Baptist Bible College for 2 years. From 1965 to 1975, he was associate minister at Good Shepherd Baptist and Shiloh Baptist Church. He and his family returned to Zion Baptist Church in January 1975. He participated as a Sunday school teacher and was the minister for the Young Adult Ministry. He and Mrs. Collier have been married for 47 years and have 4 children and 9 grandchildren. His favorite scripture is John 14:1, "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me."
  
Rev. Moses Davis
Dr. Moses C. Davis has been ministering all of his life, however, it became official when he was ordained to spread the Word of God at Zion Baptist Church. He is a retired educator from Denver Public Schools where he taught English at Manual High School, was Assistant Principal at Cole Junior High and Smiley Junior High, and retired after returning to teaching at Gove Junior/Middle School. He is the husband of Dr. Joyce Marie Davis, Minister of Music at Zion Baptist Church and also retired DPS educator in music, and has two loving children, Clarence Eugene and Ervia Patrice. His favorite Scripture is Acts 10:38, “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him.”
  
Rev. Anthony Hodges
Reverend Anthony D. Hodges is a "true" Denver native. Rev Hodges received a dual blessing/calling in 1992. First, answering "THE CALL OF THE OF THE LORD" to preach and teach his word in June 1992. Secondly, Rev. Hodges was married to his lovely bride Kylle, in August of that same year. The couple has two sons: Jeremiah & Stacey. Rev. Hodges has a passion for teaching the word of God and breaking it down to its simplest terms. Rev. Anthony is best known for his sense of humor and story telling ability. He integrates Proverbs 17:22a, "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine…” into his everyday life. Rev Hodges believes his sense of humor to be a gift from God and cherishes it along with his other Spiritual gifts. "To God be the Glory for all He has done, because He's not finished with any of us yet." Amen!
  
Rev. Rayford Pouncy
Rev. Pouncy is the senior Associate Minister at Zion Baptist Church. He has over 50 years as a Minister at Zion and over 50 years of membership. He once served as the Youth Minister and taught a BTU class. Currently he teaches Sunday School.
